Wallace Dam, Dorset (2022)
The Wallace Dam along the Mettawee River in Dorset has been partially removed, led by Trout Unlimited. The Wallace Dam was originally built to power a private mill that is now adjacent to a private home. The original dam has been left in place to maintain aesthetic appeal, but the majority of the flow has been restored to a side channel for fish passage and stream restoration. Flow will continue over the dam during high flow events.
