May 5: Tree Planting at Bull Run in Northfield

In 2020, Friends of the Winooski River and partners completed work to remove the former Camp Wihakowi Dam and restore the floodplain along Bull Run in Northfield. Find more here about that project.
Now, volunteers are needed to help plant an additional 800 trees along the stream. It’s a beautiful setting in a hemlock-lined ravine, and will be a fun day working outside together, masked and distanced. We’ll be on site from 9 am until 5 pm, and we’ll provide shovels and a planting demonstration.
Please contact Shawn White (shawn@winooskiriver.org) to sign up, and she’ll provide directions.
